The Role of Teaching Self-Efficacy in Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Teaching Satisfaction

Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) faculty are crucial to the vitality of engineering education effectiveness future generations engineers. Teaching satisfaction has been identified as an important predictor teaching performance retention. University support for well from department chair have predictors satisfaction. Further, previous investigations using self-determination theory (SDT) competence (teaching self-efficacy) additional support, self-efficacy were used in attempt better understand how administrators can foster among ECE faculty. (N = 43) a large midwestern research institution sampled investigate utility these variables predicting Sequential regression modeling indicated was positive found predict after accounting support. Implications, directions, limitations also presented.
